The sum of two numbers is 20 and their difference is 12. If you divide the larger number by the smaller number, the quotient is 4. What are the two numbers? Explain your strategy.

The answer is 4 + 16 = 20. 4 x 4 = 16. 4 + 12 = 16. 16 divided by 4 = 4. So the two numbers are 4 and 16. My stratige is going 1 + what = 20 and keep going up the number line till I got my finial answer.

I think the two numbers are 3 and 5 cause those are quotients of 20X4 and 12X4.
